Sasatinnie SPR209 with Stamping

Sasatinnie SPR209 - three coats with no top coat

Sasatinnie SPR209, a candy pink with gold pink and purple shimmers, reminds me a lot of Essie Your Hut Or Mine. The shimmery look is gorgeous, and it dries to a fairy glossy finish, which is a bonus! The only negative about this polish is the brush, it is way too short and is not comfortable to hold, but at this price (about $1USD for 5ml), I cannot really complain.

I then did some quick stamping using a faux plate and Color Club Antiquated, a champagne gold foil that is awesome for stamping. How do you like this mani?

Nail Stamping with Barry M Denim

Just a quick post today. I did a fancy French tip mani with stamping over Barry M Denim. A few words on the polish itself, Denim is amazing! A true one coater, it comes to life with gorgeous shimmer when you apply a top coat. I'd definitely try to use it as a stamping polish next time.

What do you think of this mani? I think this is easier than doing freehand French tips!

My Favorite Polish, Stamped!

Stamping with Catrice Dirty Berry
I wanted to do some stamping, so what's better than pulling out one of my favorite polishes ever and use it as a base? I choose a French tip pattern to stamp with, and I am quite glad with the result! I think this is my best stamping effort so far! *shameless*

What I used for this mani:
Base: Catrice Dirty Berry
Stamping polish: Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire
Stamping plate: QA 13

I can't help but to show you again how pretty Dirty Berry is. The holo shimmer, the soft burple color, what's not to love?

Check out the subtle holo shimmer!

A possible Tristam dupe? Neno DS15

Neno DS15 - two coats with no top coat
What is it with Asian polish and the lack of names? Surely a name as lame as 'Dark Blue' is still better than none? Unfortunately, this gorgeous Neno polish is stuck with DS15, but that is the only imperfection it has.

DS15 is a royal blue scattered holo, and although the prismatic effect is not very pronounced, it certainly adds depth and a mysterious glow to this lovely polish. DS15 reminds me a lot of A-England Tristam, and I will be doing a comparison in the near future, so watch this space :)

The formula of DS15 is perfect, an easy two coater that dries quickly. I got this polish from an online China website, but sadly it does not ship internationally.

I thought some silver stamping would complement DS15 nicely, so here it is:

Nail Stamping: Cheetah print mani!

Just a quick post on my Cheetah print mani today. This is one of the more popular stamping manis out there, because it is funky, fun and easy to do! Even though the stamping could be crisper, I am quite happy with the final product!

Do you like it as much as I do? :)

What I used for this mani:

Base Polish: Catrice Carl Says Tres Chic
Stamp Polish: WnW Black creme
Stamping Plate: cheetah print from Fauxnad m57
Random blue dots: Nubar Nail Art Pen - Blue Frost

It's Skin PP106 + Stamping

Apologies for the boring title, but I hope you don't find my mani boring! I wanted to do something fancy yet simple looking, so I did a funky French tip and stamped a lace pattern (using Fauxnad m71) over It's Skin PP106. Although I still suck at stamping, this mani doesn't turn out too badly, I hope you like it too!

It's Skin PP106 - two coats with no top coat

On its own, It's Skin PP106 from the Luxury Effect line is a soft lilac purple with a medium scattered holo effect. Formula is easy to deal with, and is opaque in two coats. I got this polish when I was in Seoul earlier this year, and you can try your luck at eBay or GMarket if you want to get your hands on it.

What I used for this mani:
Base: It's Skin PP106
Funky French Tip: Hits Zeus
Stamped with: Kleancolor Metallic Aqua
Stamping Design: Fauxnad m71

A Very Special Post: Green for Lyme Disease Awareness Month

A-England Dragon
Hello my dear readers! Today I am dedicating this post to a special polish friend who suffers from Lyme Disease (to read more about the disease, click here). Green is the color chosen to educate the community about Lyme Disease, so I have done a green mani using A-England Dragon and a little bit of stamping.

Dragon is described as an iridescent mossy green by A-England, and I cannot describe it better myself. Its darkish scattered holo effect gives a lovely yet mysterious glow to Dragon, and although green is not my favorite shade when it comes to polish, I love love love Dragon!

What I used for my stamping mani:

Base: A-England Dragon
Stamped with: Kleancolor Metallic Mango
Stamping Design: Fauxnad Cheetah print

Nail Stamping: Checkered Birds

I finally got around to buying a Konad stamper (I was using all kinds of stampers from other brands before), and what a huge difference does it make! I no longer feel like I am pulling my hair out because Konad stamper makes stamping so easy! I will definitely be stamping a lot more from now on!

Plate: Fauxnad
Base: Ups Color Azul Disco - a light blue scattered holo
Stamping polish: Wet n Wild black creme

Nail Art Stamping: Chemistry #518 w/ Gosh Holographic

I love everything to do with bows, and I love to use this cute bow from my Fauxnad plate to add a little cuteness to my mani.

Base: Chemistry #518 stamped with Gosh Holographic

I used Gosh Holographic for the bow, it is a great polish for stamping! As for the base polish, it is #518 by Chemistry, a pinkish red linear holo. The prismatic effect of #518 is so strong, it almost hurts my eyes to look at it under the sun! The formula is faultless too, I must get more Chemistry polishes next time I go back to Australia!

Nail Art Stamping: Aritaum Pink Holo with Color Club Wild At Heart

Aritaum Pink Holo stamped with Color Club Wild At Heart

Hello girls, how are we all doing? Chinese New Year is almost here, so I wanted to do something fancy to my nails to celebrate this very important festival!

I really like using Color Club Wild At Heart for stamping; although the holo effect is not very obvious, it definitely brings out the stamping pattern.

Aritaum Pink Holo - two coats with no top coat

And here is Aritaum Pink Holo on its lonesome. Aritaum is a South Korean brand, and it has two holo polishes, a pink and a purple (for the purple holo post, click here). The application is a dream! I can't wait to go to Seoul next month to check out more Aritaum polishes, and many more!

New Year's Eve Mani

Happy New Year peeps! Here is to 2012, may the new year brings everybody good health, good fortune, and most importantly, more awesome polishes!

OPI Lucerne Tainly Look Marvelous (three coats) with Essence silver stamping polish

Just a quick post on my NYE mani. I used OPI Lucerne Tainly Look Marvelous as a base color, and did a simple stamping with Essence silver stamping polish to jazz it up. Although my stamping skill is still not the greatest, I like how it turns out, elegant and not over the top. I got quite a few compliments on my nails too! I am also in awe of how awesome Lucerne Tainly Look Marvelous looks! The tiny pink, green, yellow, blue and purple shimmers twinkle on the pewter base, stunning!

That's it girls, thank you for sticking around and showing your support for my blog. I look forward to sharing more gorgeous polishes with you in 2012! :D

Manis for the Festive Season!

Hello there! Today I have for you two Christmas manis. I don't usually do fancy nail arts, but being the holiday seasons and all, I wanted to do something special!

What I used
China Glaze - Poinsettia (base, two coats)
China Glaze - Ruby Pumps (top half of nails, one coat)
Gosh - Holographic (snowflakes)
Fauxnad plate - m59

What I used
China Glaze - Poinsettia (base, two coats)
NNS - light blue holo (dots)

The reason I have two manis is because after the first mani is finished, I decided I am not good at stamping, and opted for something even simpler, dotting. Turns out I am not very good at dotting either! I guess I should just stick to boring nail painting instead.

Anyhow, I wish you all a very merry and safe Christmas, have a jolly good time with your loved ones!

Catherine Arley #673 + Stamping

Hello ladies! This is my first time trying to stamp a full nail pattern, and I must admit I definitely need more practice! I have trouble transferring the whole pattern to my bigger nails (namely thumbs and middle fingers), but other than that I quite like this abstract pattern from fauxard plate m36. I used Essence special silver stamping polish here.

Catherine Arley #673 - two coats with base and top coat
My base color is Catherine Arley #673. After eight months, my Catherine Arley order from Belgium have finally arrived! It is a bit annoying that these polishes have no names, but #673 is a lovely grape purple scattered holo. I like how the holo effect is soft, and yet it is still noticeable even under dim lights. It is almost worth the wait! I have no problem with the formula, and with two easy coats I get full opacity.

So pretty!
I have yet to try the other Catherine Arley holos, so watch this space for more swatches very soon!

Catrice I Sea You! + Stamping

Catrice I Sea You! - 2 coats with no base/topcoat (pardon my very dry cuticles)
Catrice I Sea You! is a nice change of color after wearing darkish purple on my nails in the past week. The name of this polish says it all really, it is a teal green that reminds me of the sea in Sanya. It is a perfect summer color without going OTT; the blue tone gives this polish a nice dusky feel that I like!

I then decided to add a little something to my nails, so I pull out my Fauxad plates and stamped a lacy pattern using Color Club Wild At Heart (WaH is my go-to stamping polish, it works great!). My apologies for my wonky stamping skills, I find it is more difficult to stamp a large pattern than a small one. I guess I'll have to practice more!

I Scream Peach! by Catrice

Base: Catrice I Scream Peach!, Stamp: Essence Stampy Black Polish

There are a few colors I don't wear - yellows, most greens, most reds, and oranges. Even coral is pushing it. So I Scream Peach! by Catrice is definitely an "out of the box" color for me.

I am glad I tried this color on. I am surprised how much I like it on me. I Scream Peach! is a peachy coral creme that applies very nicely. I am loving all my Catrices so far!

To jazz up my mani, I used my m64 Fauxad plate and Essence Stampy Black Polish. My stamping skill is still a bit of a hit or miss, but I am still quite happy with the final look.

What do you think of this mani? Do you like it as much as I do?

I Scream Peach! on its own, two coats

Just a little extra

So if you don't know already, I have a fetish with all things ribbon and bow. I guess that is the little girl in me that will never die :P

To increase the longevity of my current mani, I simply stamped bows on all my nails. I want the print to be subtle so I chose a not-so contrasting color to my base one. I used China Glaze Bogie for stamping. The pattern is the little bow on my Fauxad plate 59.

Finally, the perfect Pink! Essie "Your Hut Or Mine"

Essie - Your Hut Or Mine
Like many polish lovers, I have many bottles of pink polish in all shades and finishes. Yet for some reason, I don't have a go-to pink polish until now. May I introduce you to Essie - Your Hut or Mine.

Your Hut or Mine is from Essie Resort 2011 collection. It is pink coral with subtle orange and gold shimmers throughout. Apologies that my crappy iphone camera failed to capture the gorgeous shimmers, I am hoping to make a DIY light box in the near future so that I could take better nail pictures!

The formula is very nice. Essie polishes have been known to be too watery sometimes, but this one is just perfect. Two easy coats and I get full opacity. I think I have finally found the perfect pink polish that suits my skin tone!

I have been quite impressed with Essie lately. Along with Smooth Sailing, Your Hut Or Mine has become one of my latest favorites. Perhaps I like shimmer polish more than I think?

The above manicure is done with one coat of SV nail treatment, 2 coats of Essie, and one coat of CND Super Shine.

Edited: I was bored and wanted to do more to my manicure, so I pulled out my stamping kit and added some leopard prints to my nails using Fauxnad plate #m57 and Color Club Wild At Heart. What do you guys think?

Can you see the tiny holos trying to escape from the bottle?

Reunited with my long forgotten Fauxnad Stamping Plate!

I bought a few Fauxnad plates online half a year ago, and although I have attempted several times with various polishes / patterns, somehow I just couldn't stamp the patterns on my nails neatly and consistently. I don't know whether it was because of the stamp, the plates or my polish, I just couldn't get it to work.

Since joining a couple FB nail polish groups and following many new polish blogs, I am inspired to try nail stamping again. So today I decided to brush the dust off my Fauxnad plates and give it another try.

Fauxnad Plate - m2

I picked up plate m2 (I believe this is the same plate as the Konad one?) and decided to use the pattern in the middle. Note how they called it Kand Template? LOL, you got to love the names they come up with for fakes sometimes!

The print on my pinky looks the best!
Check out the shimmers under bright lights! Disco balls on my nails!

I used Color Club Love 'Em Leave 'Em for stamping. Wow! Am I surprised to see how well the stamping turned out this time! Although there is still a long way to go with my stamping skills, the patterns are at least clearly visible on my nails!

Overall I am quite happy with the result, and this encourages me to try more stamping from now on! I might even go and buy more Fauxnads now!
