Urban Outfitters Pink Holo

Urban Outfitters Pnk Holo - two coats with no top coat

There really is not much I can say about Urban Outfitters Pink Holo besides it absolutely blows me away with its "holoness". I hardly take swatch photos under direct sunlight, but the sun decided to come out to play yesterday, and I had to capture the true beauty of this polish. Honestly, do I need to say more?

The formula of this polish is surprisingly amazing too! Photos taken above were taken on the forth day of wearing Pink Holo, with no top coat! No chipping, and hardly any tipwear at all, how awesome!

Lastly, a shot of Pink Holo under artificial light. The holo is just as strong, but it just doesn't look as natural. I should seriously consider taking more swatch photos under the sun. Which swatch photo do you prefer?

A England Lady Of The Lake With A Hint Of Spring

A England Lady of the Lake - two coats with top coat

Although we are still in the middle of winter, the weather has been quite warm and lovely lately, so I decided to do a simple dotted flower mani. I used A England Lady of the Lake as the base, a gorgeous dark purple scattered holo that applies dreamily. Check out that prismatic glow!

I then added a few dots using my dotting tool to finish the look, what do you think?

Indie Polish Review: Laquerlicious Lacquer

I am bringing you Laquerlicious Lacquer today! Michelle, the creator of Laquerlicious, has kindly sent me three polishes to review, and since this is the first time I have come across Laquerlicious, I cannot wait to try them out!

Laquerlicious Rainbow Sugar - three coats with top coat

First up we have Rainbow Sugar, a soft pink milky jelly packed with small multi colored matte hex and square glitters. There is also a hint of silver blue shimmer peeking through. Rainbow Sugar reminds me of a cupcake with strawberry icing and hundreds and thousands sprinkled on top, it looks delicious!

Laquerlicious Washed Denim - one coat over OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, with top coat

Wash Denim is described by Laquerlicious as "a clear base with tiny and small to medium foil teal, white and black matte hex & square glitter". There are many versions of the black and white glitters out there, and Michelle's take is definitely one of the more interesting one! And can you spot the diamond glitter on my ring finger? Love!

Laquerlicious Stained Glass - one coat over P2 Poetic, with top coat

Last but not least, I bring you Stained Glass, a clear base with large and small square and hex hologram glitters in silver, orange, teal, pink and purple! Ladies put your shades on, because Stained Glass is seriously blingy and sparkly! The density of the glitters in this polish is just right, not too sparse and not too busy.

The formula of all Laquerlicious Lacquer is really easy to work with. I don't need to fish out the glitters, and minimal dabbing is required. They dry on the smooth side too, so a good layer of top coat would give you the glossy finished look. Overall I really like Laquerlicious, the polishes are high quality, fun, eye-catching, and easy to work! I hope you would enjoy them as much as I do! Before I sign off, here is a macro shot collage:

The Polish Bar - Cloudy Skies

The Polish Bar Cloudy Skies - two coats over a random grey creme

Cloudy Skies by The Polish Bar is a soft and delicate polish; a light grey jelly with purple and iridescent white glitters, it would certainly lift your mood on any cloudy day! Here I layered it over a random Korean light grey creme which compliments Cloudy Skies perfectly. The glitters lays flat on the nails (which is always a good thing), and a good coat of SV topcoat gives the mani a smooth and glossy finish.

The Polish Bar can be purchased via Etsy here. All polishes are three-free and are handmade by Janice, the creator of The Polish Bar.

Simple Nail Art - Holo Dotted Mani

After seeing The Nail Network's dotted mani (click here), I was inspired and wanted to try it out myself. I love how the holo dots make an otherwise bland creme mani pop!

Have you tried this dotted method before? Do you like it as much as I do?

Girly Bits Heirloom, and a comparison to Lynnderella and Enchanted Polish

Happy 2013 my dear readers! Today I have a special post for you, I hope you will enjoy it!

Girly Bits Heirloom - one coat over OPI I Brake For Manicure - topped with SV topcoat

Girly Bits Heirloom from the Season of Sparkle Collection. A clear base polish with dusty pink, purple and silver glitters, or as Pam the creator describes it, 'all the vintage shades of a Victorian era holiday'. The glitters are so dense you only need one coat to achieve a very blingy look! The glitters are also extremely sparkly, so girls you better put your sunglasses on! I got quite a few compliments from wearing Heirloom, it is just oh so gorgeous!

I thought I might have some similar glitter toppers in my stash, so I pull them out and did a quick comparison.

L-R: Enchanted Polish Witchful Thinking, Lynnderella Common Sense, Girly Bits Heirloom, all one coat only

L-R: Girly Bits Heirloom, Lynnderella Common Sense, Enchanted Polish Witchful Thinking, all one coat over black

First of all, I am happy to report that there is no dupe. Although Heirloom and Witchful Thinking appear quite similar at first glance, Heirloom has silver glitters whilst the latter has gold/brownish glitters and micro holo glitters. Common Sense is more of a pink glitter than the other two, and is the densest of the three. Which one is my favorite you ask? I'm sorry but I'd have to give you a cliche answer and say I love them all! :)
