Water Marbling - what a disaster!

The title of this post says it all really. I had my first attempt at water marbling today, and look how wrong it turned out. Air bubbles everywhere, not to mention I had so much trouble because the polish just won't spread out properly in the cup!

I then did some research and found an excellent tutorial guide on water marbling from Laquerish. I would definitely follow her tips before I try water marbling again!

Ozotic 531

Ozotic #531 - two coats with no top coat

#531 is from the Ozotic Mish Mash Collection released last year. It is a copper brown multichrome that flashes shades of pink, lavender and green at various lights, and it is also a strong linear holo! It reminds me of Kinder Chocolate egg, where you get all the goodies in just one egg! :)

Formula is a bit on the sheer side, but after three coats #531 becomes opaque. It is such a unique polish because of its unusual color and complexity, it is a must have for all your holo/duochrome lovers out there!

Zoya Lotus

Zoya Lotus - two coats with top coat

Lotus, a feminine soft purple with sparkly pink shimmer, is from the Zoya True Collection 2012. I especially love this polish because shimmery polish is right up my alley! And just for fun, I added a little nail sticker as an accent :)

OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam and Quick Comparison

OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam- two coats with no top coat

I Don't Give A Rotterdam is from OPI the Holland Collection 2012. It is a dusty cornflower blue packed with silver glass flecks. As you know I am a sucker  for shimmer polishes, so this one is right up my alley! The cool tone base also suits my likewise skintone very well!

When I first saw swatches of I Don't Give A Rotterdam, it instantly reminds me of Essie Smooth Sailin' (another favorite of mine), so I wanted to do a quick comparison. I also included OPI I Have A Herring Problem (also from Holland 2012) for good measure.

From L to R: Essie Smooth Sailin' vs OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdamn vs OPI I Have A Herring Problem

Wow was I totally wrong! Smooth Sailin' is a much brighter and vibrant blue than I Don't Give A Rotterdam, whilst I Have A Herring Problem has a strong teal base to it. Both Smooth Sailin' and I Don't Give A Rotterdam are filled with silver glass flecks, and I Have A Herring Problem is filled with gold flecks. Each polish is lovely on its own, and I am glad they are definitely not dupes! (my lame excuse for owning all three hehe)

A Gift of Generosity: ♥Lynnderella Liquid Valentine♥

We all know Lynnderella polishes are one of the most highly sought after polishes, so when I received Lynnderella Liquid Valentine as a gift from two very kind friends, I am totally overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity! I never believe I would be a proud owner of Lynnderella!

Lynnderella Liquid Valentine over China Glaze Fuschia Fanatic

I have layered one coat of Liquid Valentine of 2 coats of China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic. Isn't Liquid Valentine just the most lovely polish you have ever seen? A light pink jelly base packed with tiny blue/purple/silver shimmers, and red, silver and purple square, hexagon and octagon glitter pieces, Liquid Valentine is just full of awesomeness!

China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic, two coats with SV top coat

And here is a quick swatch of China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic on its own.  It is a sweet fuchsia jelly/creme that looks so refreshing, and it suits my skintone down to the T, I love it! It is also the perfect base color for Liquid Valentine too!
